This one-day retreat includes zazen (seated meditation) and kinhin (walking meditation), samu (work practice), a monk's breakfast, and lunch.
Zazen (Zen meditation) is the central practice of Zen and is the direct path to living here and now. Zazen is sitting in the posture of dignified nonaction for no reason, for no purpose, for no personal gain. Simply sitting and breathing, we return to a state of mental and physical equanimity, automatically, spontaneously, naturally.
Cost: Members in good standing: $10 regular, $5 student; Non-members or those whose membership has lapsed: $35 regular, $20 student (includes a month of sitting). Payable by cash, check, or card the day of the event.
Childcare may be available. Please request several days in advance to allow planning time. May require an additional donation.
Kindly reserve with the director by December 14.
Gasshos.
